Are you curious about how reborn/newborn dolls are made and would like to begin this new hobby? Or are you ready to start the process of learning how to make fine artist dolls to sell?

This workshop is a perfect introduction to the art form. In this class you will learn to transform a vinyl doll kit into a beautiful doll fit for a family heirloom.

We will teach you how to  apply layers of Genesis paint to create lifelike baby skin along with the blushing, creasing, nails and lip color that will make your baby come alive. You will learn how to mix paint colors and basic doll construction that includes an introduction to mohair and rooting. You will have the option of learning to root the hair on your baby or using a clear cap wig.

This workshop is packed with approximately 12-14 hours of information and demonstrations. Weekend schedule is flexible for out-of-town students. Normal schedule is the following:

• Saturday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  Saturday of the workshop is a full day of instruction and fun.
• Sunday, 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  Sunday is shorter and gives students an opportunity to practice and ask questions.

• Workshop features a kit with longer limbs
• Workshop focuses on color theory and mixing Genesis paints while the one-day class features pre-mixed paints.

• Optional:  Clothing for your doll  (can be purchased during workshop)
• Optional:  Old shirt or apron to protect clothing
• Optional: Magnifying glasses (reading glasses)
• Optional:  Rooting needles (can be purchased during workshop)
• Optional:  Pin Vise to hold rooting needle (can be purchased during workshop)

Minimum Class Size: 3 students

Last date to sign up for this class is April 9, 2010.  If a minimum number of persons do not register, class will be cancelled. If class is cancelled by the instructor, all registration fees will be refunded or applied to another class at the student's request.

Pay in full or pay a deposit to reserve your space. NONREFUNDABLE deposit of $100.00 is required to hold your seat with balance of $145.00 due on workshop day if the "Deposit Only"option is chosen.

Fee includes instruction and the following:

• Use of Genesis Paints & Paint Thinner
• Use of brushes
• Use of various painting supplies/tools
• Use of polyfill
• Use of plastic weighting pellets
• Eyelashes (in case you prefer not to root them)
• Wig allowance.  Part of the cost of mohair or mohair wig
  
  NOTE:  Due to the increased price of mohair and wigs, we can no longer include it in the cost of the class. However, class registration does include a small "hair" allowance that is appled to cost of a mohair or clear cap wig
